The RTS Award-winning documentary series returns for a new run following patients treated in the same 24-hour period at St George's in southwest London. The hospital has one of the busiest A&E departments in Britain, which is under more pressure than ever. It's a place where stories of life, love and loss unfold every day.

This episode follows staff as they unravel the mystery of an unknown patient who arrives after collapsing and falling face first in the street. The team manage to contact his two daughters as they race to find out what may have caused him to fall unconscious. Twenty-nine-year-old Rick comes to minors after an accident at the gym, and three-year-old Marigold, who has signs of a chest infection, is in paediatrics with her mum Helen.

Neurology registrar Vijay works quickly to assess what may have happened and Richard is sent to CT. But whilst undergoing his scan he has a further seizure, which gives Dr Vijay a strong indication that his symptoms may not have been caused by a stroke. Meanwhile, 76-year-old Peter arrives in A&E with a severe head injury, covered in blood, but it's not clear what exactly has happened to him. As Dr Fiona tries to get to the root cause, Peter is declared a code red emergency and doctors needs to give him an emergency blood transfusion.
