The Kitchen that Won't Stop Talking
Homeowners Rob Fery and Jessica Yablow have lived with their neglected kitchen for years and are finally doing something about it. Watch as windows become doors, doors become walls, and walls become breakfast bars to accommodate the new island and updated cabinetry. With a week off from work and some money-saving help from host and licensed contractor John DeSilvia, can these two achieve the modern, open-flow kitchen of their dreams? Or, will all the time spent working together cost the couple more in arguments?

Budget Bathroom
Homeowners Billy and Kathy Cullen are stuck in a corner...the tiny corner shower in their master bath. They plan to create more space by ripping the exciting bathroom to studs, removing an unused tub and installing a fancy new multiple-head shower system. To complete the high-end look they will add mosaic tile, semi-custom cabinetry and new radiant heat floors. In order to afford champagne tastes on their beer budget, the Cullen's must do the majority of work themselves. Will Billy's fear that his inexperience may ruin the luxury look have him running to his contractor? Or will host John DeSilvia give him the confidence he needs to save 10 grand?

Budget Bedroom
Homeowner James Bastian has already shelled out a good chunk of change to install a new kitchen on the ground level of his home. Now he needs to save money on converting the old kitchen on the second floor into a master suite. In addition to framing-out a new bathroom and California closet, James will also tackle new windows, flooring and fixtures with the help of host and licensed contractor John DeSilvia. Will Bastian save big or discover that the money spent on the bottom floor was actually well spent?

Taking Back Bedroom
Joseph and Christine Paravati's house was once used as a multi-family home with each floor being a separate unit. Having already converted the basement apartment into an entertainment area, they are now set to reclaim the upstairs master suite by getting rid of the second kitchen. Removing the kitchen will create space for a bathroom extension and new walk-in closet. Host and licensed contractor John DeSilvia shows this couple how to save money by doing their own demolition, framing and flooring. These changes may allow them to splurge on a Jacuzzi tub for their new bathroom.

Bigger Better Bathroom
Homeowners Scott and Lynn Lish have been slowly updating their home for the past few years and are ready to focus on the master bathroom. They plan to create more space by demolishing a wall and moving the entrance, adding a custom storage system to an existing closet, and replacing and relocating the picture window. In addition, host and licensed contractor John DeSilvia shows them how they can save money by installing their own tile, fixtures and radiant floors. Can these homeowners get their projects done under budget or will they learn the true meaning of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?"

Kitchen Completes it
Homeowners Harold and Sandy Conlon are no strangers to construction, as they have been renovating their home for the past five years. While their space has doubled, money has run tight leaving the kitchen for last. The Conlons must do the work themselves in order to finish their massive project. With host and licensed contractor John DeSilvia's money saving tips and the help of their three teenage children, the Conlon's expand their kitchen into an adjacent, unused room, so Sandy can finally start hosting parties again.

Three Room and a Baby
Homeowners Jeffrey and Francesca Goldberg need room for a new baby. They plan to create a bedroom space for their first son in their unused basement by adding a casement window and new bathroom. Jeffrey will also remodel his existing garage workshop and add a custom wine cellar to the refinished basement. Host and licensed contractor John DeSilvia helps this growing family save money with tips on replacing windows, installing fixtures and laying three different types of flooring. Will Jeffrey get his projects done under budget before his wife gives birth?

Kitchen Mission
Faye and Damon Finaldi are on a mission to renovate the kitchen in their newly purchased home before the birth of their second child. By knocking down a wall to open up the space, they will nearly double the size of the kitchen, meaning more costs in materials to finish the job. Can host and licensed contractor John DeSilvia find enough ways for this couple to save by doing the work themselves? Or will the stress of the new baby and a nonfunctional kitchen be enough for these homeowners to want to leave it to the pros?

Corsano's Construction
On this very special episode of 10 Grand in Your Hand, licensed contractor John DeSilvia helps homeowner Joe Corsano, host of Lifetime Network's Mom's Cooking, save money on his basement renovation. Not only is Joe a noted TV personality, but he is also one of JD's oldest friends. Joe's projects include repairing his own leaky ceiling, re-doing the bathroom and turning the wasted space into a den/playroom before the birth of their second child. Will he succeed in walking a mile in JD's shoes? Or, will he call on his old pal for favors in order to get the room done before the baby is born?

Lakeside Luxury
Homeowner Lisa Turek and her husband Chris have been meaning to update the kitchen of their lakeside home for quite some time. With Lisa starting her own company and plans to begin a family, she is determined to get the project done by spring. She promised her husband she would mind their tight budget by rolling up her sleeves, doing the work herself, and enlisting host and licensed contractor John DeSilvia to help her find ways to cut costs. She even drags Chris into the mix when it comes time to lay the new hardwood floors. With one wife's will and an appearance by a very special guest, this kitchen transformation is sure to be worthy of the lakeside view.

From Beat to Suite
Anthony and Christine Brand bought a foreclosed home with a partially renovated master suite. Host and licensed contractor John DeSilvia shows them how to save money by completing the rest of the renovation themselves. With the previous owners taking care of the electrical and plumbing, it's up to these two novice DIYers to install their own bathroom lighting fixtures, revamp their fireplace facade and build out a new custom closet.

Side Swap
Jim and Mary Ellen Byrne have a lot of work cut out for them. In addition to vaulting the ceilings in their main living area for a dramatic transformation, they are switching position of their kitchen from one side of the house to the other. Add a new fireplace facade and the Byrne's are looking at big bucks to complete their project. Luckily, host and licensed contractor John DeSilvia has some ways they can save to keep this couple on budget and on schedule. After their contractor completes construction on the new structure, the homeowners step in to do the rest of the work themselves.

Poolside Savings
Homeowner Daniel Campion has always wanted to give his wife the in-ground pool of her dreams. They have finally decided to move forward with the project and since they cannot do any of the work on the pool, they must complete the rest of the outdoor renovation themselves. Host and licensed contractor John DeSilvia shows them how to save money by laying their own patio pavers, and installing a new deck and a built-in waterfall that feeds into the new pool. With all the savings, they just might be able to add an outdoor kitchen to boot.
