BiographyHerbert "Barry" Morse (10 June 1918 – 2 February 2008) was a British-Canadian actor, writer, and director. He was known for playing Lt. Philip Gerard, the principal antagonist of the American television series The Fugitive (1963–67), as well as Dr. Victor Bergman on Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's science-fiction programme Space: 1999 (1975–76).

Morse's performing career spanned seven decades and hundreds of roles across film, television, stage, and radio. At various times, he worked in the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. He was a steady fixture of BBC and CBC television programming for many years, and an artistic director of the Shaw Festival.
