A star-studded line-up of famous faces take part in this year's marathon fundraising effort. Sir Terry Wogan is joined by Tess Daly to kick off the evening's extravaganza in aid of disadvantaged children in the UK. The cast of West End musical Matilda perform an exclusive medley of songs from the multi award winning show. Boyband JLS perform some of their greatest hits in Albert Square, the home of EastEnders, and there is a world exclusive preview clip from the 50th anniversary episode of Doctor Who.

8.00-8.30

Olympic ice dance legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean ditch their skates and take to the ballroom as they go head-to-head in a very special Strictly Come Dancing.

8.30-9.00

Gary Barlow introduces a nationwide choir of 1,500 schoolchildren united in song, whilst Frank Skinner hosts a special children's version of Room 101. The world's biggest boy band, One Direction, make a rare UK appearance especially for Children in Need.

9.00-10.00

Sir Terry is joined by co-host Fearne Cotton for a fun-filled hour of entertainment. Comedian Harry Hill and a cast of celebrity cameos offer up a hilarious remake of a classic 1980s music video. The cast of EastEnders take part in a live dance in Albert Square, taking in styles including Charleston, Bollywood, street dance, Tango, and Broadway. The One Show's Alex Jones and Team Rickshaw complete their week long nationwide challenge. Cast members from Call the Midwife perform a 1950s-inspired song and dance medley, and Ellie Goulding performs the official Children in Need single How Long Will I Love You, live on stage.

Rounding out the Griffin household is Brian the family dog and a ladies' man who is one step away from AA.
